  • Current distribution known : widespread in the Congo River basin (with exception of the Mweru-Luapula-Bangweulu system) in Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of Congo, Central African Republic and Angola. Also in the lake Tanganyika basin, but apparently only in lower courses of tributary rivers, including the Malagarasi, and not in the lake itself .
