Type locality: Tanzania: large pool on west side of road between Ifakara and the Kilombero River ferry, 2 killometers south of Ifakara, 1 killometer north of Kilombero River, 8°10.30'S, 36°41.54'E. Holotype: MRAC 2007.002.P.0009, male 49.6 mm SL, Watters B.R., Cooper B.J. & Schmidt O., 10 June 2000. Paratypes MRAC 98.008.P.0007-0012, 2007.002.P.0010-0025.
