Aplocheilichthys usanguensis Wildekamp, 1977 c: 107, fig. 4, 5, 9, 10. Type locality: "Tümpel entlang der Hauptstrasse von Mbeya nach Iringa in der Umgebung von Ilongo, am westlichen Rand der Usangu-Ebene, etwa 45 km. östlich von Mbeya, Mbeya district, Tanzania", southwestern Tanzania (08°41'S-33°43'E). Holotype MRAC n° 77-16-P-64; paratypes MRAC n° 77-16-P-65 to 78 (14).
