Amphilius zairensis Skelton, 1986: 266, fig. 1-12. Type locality: Democratic Republic of Congo, Lufu River, 2 kilometers from confluence with Congo River, near Inga hydroelectric dam (5°31.5'S-13°37.5'E). Holotype: MCZ 50533; paratypes BMNH 1984.7.18.1-5 (ex MCZ 50532), MCZ 50144, 50295. 50458, 50533, 61107, MRAC 84.026.P.0001-0004 (ex MCZ 50533), SAIAB 22308 (ex MCZ 50533).
