Current distribution known :
known from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola and Zambia. In Central Africa: known from the Kasai system, Central Congo River basin. It has been recorded from the Cunene and known from upper Zambezi systems, though these records are doubtful. In Southern Africa (Angola): occurs in the Kwanza River (Lucala River) system.

a benthopelagic species. The preferred habitat is not known, but other species of the genus occur in upper reaches
