Attributs

  • DISTRIBUTION: Lien Faunafri
  • Colour pattern : Kraiem, 1983 .
  • Common names : Slunka tuniska (Czech), Punican Bleak (English), Tuneesia kagulepits (Estonian) .
  • Current distribution known : known with certainty only from the upper Medjerda River catchment in Tunisia and Algeria, but its extant distribution is poorly understood. It has formerly been recorded from four sites in Tunisia: the Ghezala River at Firnanah village; the Kasseb River near Béja; the Lendjas and Amor rivers near Aïn Draham. The latter two populations were apparently extirpated during the mid-to-late 20th century, having last been collected during the 1920s despite numerous field surveys since 1980. The two remaining confirmed sites comprise a three-kilometre stretch of the Ghezala River and a two-kilometre stretch of the Kasseb. The only Algerian records pertain to the upper Medjerda catchment in the vicinity of Souk Ahras, but the species has not been collected there since the 1980s .
