Current distribution known : it was previously thought to be endemic to the headwaters of the Hedjo river in the Volta basin, Ghana. However, there are new collections in Côte d'Ivoire (Nero, Sassandra, Bandama, and Comoe rivers) and Liberia. Its exact distribution within Liberia is unknown .
