Current distribution known : found in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola. In Central Africa, it is only known from the type locality Kondue, Sankuru River (Kasai). In Angola it is occurring in the Kwanza River (Kwanza and Luce River), Kunene River (Kukulakaze River), and Okavango River (Cubango River) systems .
