Common names : Parmicka lexorska (Czech), Barbel (English), Nuubia pardkala (Estonian) .
Current distribution known : present in the Nile river basin, from Egypt to Ethiopia and Sudan. In northern Africa, this species is present the length of the Nile, including Lake Nasser (also known as Lake Nubia). In northeast Africa, it is found as far as the Blue Nile basin, Ethiopia .
