  • Current distribution known : known in western Africa from Senegal and Mauritania to Burkino Faso. In northern Africa, this species has been caught in Adrar, Mauritania. In western Africa, it occurs across Sudanian basins of Senegal, Gambia and Volta. It is also found in certain coastal basins: Comoé, Bandama, and Sassandra Rivers in Côte d'Ivoire and Tominé River in Guinea, as well as the Bandiagara Plateau in Mali. Studies of subpopulations in Guinea suggest that several undescribed species exist within this species complex. Additional research is needed to further understand the distribution of this species .
