Common names : Parmicka Vanderystova (Czech), Vanderysti pardkala (Estonian) .
Current distribution known : known from the type locality, Kisantu, affluent of the Lower Congo River. Specimens of Matadi and the Inkisi River (also Lower Congo) have been identified as Barbus vanderysti, but this has never been published though .
