Current distribution known : endemic to the Tensift River catchment in central Morocco, where it is restricted to upper reaches of the Ourika and N'Fis tributary systems. It has been extirpated from the Rheraya River, which flows into the Tensift main channel between the tributaries supporting the two remaining populations .
