Current distribution known :
endemic to the southeastern highlands of Madagascar where it is currently known from the Mananara-sud river and tributaries near the village of Vondrozo, Ivohibe and Midongy Atsimo, Madagascar. It is also possibly present in the Manapatrana river, which flows through an area of sacred forest so collection is not possible and its presence cannot be confirmed
