Common names : Neobola konzska (Czech), Kongo helkselg (Estonian), Kongonsalakka (Finnish) .
Current distribution known : found in Pool Malebo (= Stanley Pool), and from the central and the upper Congo River basin. Occurs also in streams and rivers affluent to Lake Tanganyika, including the Mutsindozi River, Malagarasi River basin .
Habitat / home range : this benthopelagic species prefers stream and riverine biotopes .

Size : 110 mm TL .

- Engraulicypris luluae Fowler, 1930: 39, fig. 9. Type locality: "Lulua River, tributary of the Kasai River, Belgian Congo". Holotype ANSP n° 51.741; paratype ANSP n° 51.742 (closely related if not synonymous with E. congicus).
