    • Tachysurus fossor (? non Pimelodes fossor (Pimelodes fossor Lichtenstein, 1823: 112. Type locality: " Prome " quals Cape of Good Hope. Holotype lost. Pimelodes fossor is undoubtedly based on a specimen of Galeichthys but the description is insufficient for identification with either of the two South African species and must be considered as a nomen dubium| Peters, 1868 d: 455 (synonymy with G. feliceps)).
