- Pelmatochromis stappersii (part.) Boulenger, 1914 d: 444. Types localities: "Tulo et Baie de Kilewa, lac Tanganika". Concerning the syntypes series M. Poll (1986: 109) chooses MRAC n° 9.014 as lectotype and MRAC n° 3.733-734, n° 14.331, n° 11.243-246, n° 11.546 as paralectotypes, altough those 5 last specimens are not syntypes. This author forgot to consider the status of the 5 syntypes from the BM(NH) collections. (BMNH n° 1920.5.25: 147-148 (Tulo) and n° 1920.5.25: 149-151 (Kilewa Bay).
