Current distribution known :
common along the Nile, from Egypt to Sudan. In northern Africa, it is known from the river Nile in Egypt. It is present in Lakes Manzala, Burullus and Idku during flooding time, also in Wadi El Rayan Lakes and Nozha Hydrodrome. In northeast Africa, it occurs in the Baro and Omo Rivers and Rift valley lakes, Ethiopia, and Sudan Nile
