Current distribution known : a large range in the northeastern part of the Congo River drainage; some isolated populations are found in the Central Congo cuvette in tributaries of the Rivers Tshuapa, Lomela and of the Salonga River .
Food habits : ants and other insects .
Habitat / home range : prefers stagnant water on darker and dirty substratum (dead leaves, mulm) .
Reproduction : laying adhesive egg on aquatic plants and roots; 2 weeks incubation, eggs diameter: 1.2 mm .
Size : 34 mm SL .
