  • Current distribution known : known from Senegal to Cameroon. In central Africa, it occurs in Lower Guinea in the Cross, Meme, Wouri and Sanaga River basins in Nigeria and Cameroon. It is found in coastal drainages throughout western Africa from Guinea to Côte d'Ivoire and in the rivers of western Nigeria, the lower Niger, the Benue and the Cross. Absent from the Volta River basin, Togo and the Lake Chad basin .
