Current distribution known : known from the shallow parts of pools, and streams in the rain forest of western and Central Sierra Leone. Found in the drainage systems of the Great and the Little Scarcies rivers, the Tala River and the Sewa River .

Habitat / home range : found in ponds and the small rivers in rain forest. Stagnant water on darker and dirty substratum (dead leaves, mulm) .
Morphology / anatomy : Roloff, 1971 .
Reproduction : near-to-surface spawner; 2 weeks incubation (Huber, Killi-Data online: www.killi-data.org). Reported to be an open substratum egg scatterer .
Size : 48 mm SL .
