Type locality: Tanzania: Ifakara, interconnected pools in a flooded grassy area, 2 kilometers south of Ifakara, on the east side of the road to the ferry across the Kilombero River, 8°10'S, 36°42'E. Holotype: MRAC 97.083.P.0018, male 34.3 mm SL, Sainthouse I.P.B., Watters B.R. & Wildekamp R.H., 7 June, 1995. Paratypes: 97.083.0019-0021.
