Current distribution known : known from the southern tributaries of the Congo River basin. Present in the Lower Shire River, Malawi. Found in the Okavango, and known from upper and Lower Zambezi and Kafue Rivers, and St Lucia basin, KwaZulu-Natal. Also in southern tributaries of the Congo. In the upper Zambezi system it is found in all the northern tributary systems .
