Common names : Parmicka konzska (Czech), Congo barb (English), Kongo rüüpardlik (Estonian), Suurisuomubarbi (Finnish), Kongobarbe (German) .
Current distribution known : known from scattered locations in the Congo River basin (from the lower Congo near its estuary up to the upper Lualaba, Democratic Republic of the Congo). It has been also reported from Bujumbura (Ruzizi River, Burundi) and the Malagarasi River (Tanzania) .
