Food habits :
a real macrophytivore. Specimens smaller than 15 cm FL do not eat a lot of plant material yet, but mainly feed on zooplankton and insect larvae. The amount of insect larvae and zooplankton decreases with fish size, while macrophytes increase in important, fnally making up most of this species diet
