  • Current distribution known : first discovered along the rocky shores of Likoma Island and later also around Chizumulu lsland, Malawi. It also occurs between Makonde and Manda in Tanzania, and a small population has also been found at Cobwe in Mozambique .

  • Food habits / trophic level : it has been observed to feed on particulate matter from the water column .
  • Habitat / home range : occurs in the intermediate habitat where sand and rocks are found in almost equal proportions. Frequently it is found in rather sediment-rich areas with muddy deposits covering the substrate. The depth of occurrence varies between 10 and 30 meters .
