  • Food habits / trophic level : generalist feeder taking chironomids, copepods, chaoborus larvae, ostracods, nematodes, and diatoms. Algal remains, detritus and sand have also been found in the stomachs along with odonata and cladocerans .
  • Morphology / anatomy : Ngatunga & Snoeks, 2003 .
  • Reproduction : females produce about 30 eggs per batch .
  • Size : 94 mm SL .
