Type locality: Lake Tanganyika, in the summit of Lunangwa-Fjords, 7°50'S-30°30'E, about 110 kilometers south of Moba, Shaba Province, Democratic Republic of Congo. Holotype ZSM 28412; paratypes ZSM 28413, 28414, MRAC 94.05.P.0027 ([ex ZSM 28413), 94.05.P.0028 (ex ZSM 28414).
