    • Synodontis loppei Pellegrin, 1927 e: 365. Type locality: "Edea (Cameroun)", Riv. Sanaga. One of the Syntypes MNHN n° 1927-278.
    • Synodontis obesus Boulenger, 1898 a: 415. Type localities: "Gabon and Opobo River: Old Calabar". Lectotype BMNH n° 1896.5.5: 67; paralectotypes BMNH n° 1881.7.20: 5-6 (2) (Poll, 1971 a).
